4-Color Lino Printing

FOUR

COLOR

LINO

PRINTING

For this print I wish I had more images. I guess they got deleted during the process. Oh well WYSIWYG it. Above is my finished four color print. The concept was to create I four color print that involved some sort of transformation. The transformation had to be anything like water into gas, or fire into smoke etc. I chose to do Light into Dark with an abstract sun and moon. I let the colors get a little far from my intended color choice, but I think that the brightness and saturation worked in the end, The process was pretty difficult for a first- timer. I learned a lot about positioning of my layers, on top of one another. I think If I had it to do over I would make a JIG for my block so that it made the printing process a lot easier. I ran into some errors early on with the way I cut the block. I didn't want the same thing to happen with my embossing, so I had to create a special frame to keep colors from getting all over my print. A bit of a mess.

"In the end I really liked my print, and concept. I feel that I could continue with this concept and have many multi-color prints, paintings etc."
