The subject that was assigned to be an Epic Narrative that helps narrate a story from the past. My storyline was "Ra, The Sun God, and his Journey Through the 12 Gates of the Underworld". Here Ra is depicted fighting a large serpent. Each night as the sun goes down, Ra travels on his 'sun-boat' through the 12 gates of the underworld.
During a solar eclipse the serpent swallows Ra (thus the sun vanishes) and then he fights his way out of the serpents stomach and then the sun returns. This was the epic narrative of Ra fighting the Serpent from on his sun-boat. If I had it to do over I would definitely clean my borders up, I ran into some problems with embossing and the woodblock was not balanced due to the depth that I had cut the frame. I tried lowering the pressure of the press, and this helped with the embossing part, but when I would turn the press I would get an uneven roll over the inked portion of my print. This led to having messy edges. Maybe not due the frame so deep into the wood next time, or no frame at all.
